Os processadores Phenom II X4 são os modelos do Phenom com quatro núcleos fabricados com tecnologia de 45 nm. Seu cache L3 é maior (4 MB ou 6 MB, dependendo do modelo). Os modelos para soquete AM3 suportam memórias DDR3, mas quando instalados em placas-mães soquete AM2+ certificadas podem funcionar usando memórias DDR2.
