Fontes e Conectores SATA

Possuo uma fonte recentemente adquirida Cougar A350 que possuem 04 conectores sata, sendo 02 delas acompanhadas com o fio laranja (3,3v) e 02 delas sem o fio laranja. Pergunto onde usar um e outro?

Pode usar todos os quatro. Mas dê preferência aos dois que têm o fio laranja. Os especialistas divergem um pouco nessa questão. Alguns vão lhe dizer: if a drive isn't able to use the 3V for power it won't matter that the plug has 3V on it. Já outros dirão: There is a pin on the SATA *DATA* connector for that purpose. Most HDDs generally do not implement this function. The orange wire is for supplying 3.3V power to the HDD. HDDs that are 500GB and more tend not to fare well using "Molex-to-SATA" power connector adapter cables. Even though the SATA-300 spec *claims* that the orange 3.3V wire is not necessary you may find that these large drives will not spin up or operate correctly in the long term. Many users of large drives report the "Click of Death" and assume that the drive has failed. They should try throwing out any Molex power cable adapters and use only native power supply SATA power cable which always have orange 3.3V wires in them.

Me parece ai Kayke que o conector Sata com fio laranja em HD e conector Sata sem fio laranja em Drive de DVD, por ex?

Sim, não é uma má ideia. Em princípio os HDs também não farão uso de 3.3V, mas se porventura há alguns modelos que implementam alguma função que faz uso daquela corrente, melhor prevenir.
